Kay Hedges

Board of Trustees member

Kay Hedges was appointed to the Library Board in January 2006. She has lived in Westerville since 1975 and knows the community well as both her parents were born here and are graduates of Westerville High School.

A retired teacher of French and English, Kay holds degrees from Otterbein College, the University of Strasbourg in France, and the Ohio State University. She is currently serving as a field supervisor for beginning education students at Otterbein and works with a former teaching colleague developing and testing curriculum materials for foreign language classes.

Kay has served on the Uptown Review Board for the City of Westerville, is active in the Westerville Habitat Partnership, and has been a longtime member of Central College Presbyterian Church, where she has been an Elder and a Stephen Minister.

In her spare time, Kay enjoys reading, music, theatre, Ohio State basketball, playing with her grandchildren, and travel with her husband Denny. She has two grown children, Amanda and Tim, who spent many rewarding hours in the Westerville Library. Amanda, a psychologist, and her family live in the area; Tim is currently a writer enrolled in the MFA creative writing program at the University of Michigan.
