Home > Board of Trustees > Deanna McDaniel
Deanna McDaniel was appointed to the Board in January 2012. A school librarian for 30 years, Deanna has taught in all levels of school libraries–elementary, middle, high school and academic.
Since 1998, she has directed the Genoa Middle School media center and teaches information literacy skills, grades 6-8. Prior to joining Westerville City Schools, she directed the Shawnee City Schools media center at both the elementary and high school levels. Deanna has also helped conduct Kent State University School of Library Science Summer Institutes. Readers can enjoy Deanna’s book in the Library’s collection: Gentle Reads: Great Books to Warm Hearts and Lift Spirits, Grades 5-9, published in 2008.
Deanna has lived in Westerville fourteen years and describes herself as the beneficiary of the Library as a school librarian, as a parent and as a patron.
She is proud to be a member of the Board and looks forward to serving the Library – one that she sees as serving all kinds of populations, staying up to date with technology and still being the kind of good, old-fashioned library that patrons love to visit.
Your Library Board members are always interested in the comments and suggestions of their customers. Please feel free to email Deanna at mcdaniel.m@sbcglobal.net.
