Guest Storytime with Nina West
Time: 2pm - 3pm
Location: Youth Services Activity Center
Enjoy a story hand-picked and read aloud by local drag queen, stage performer and host Nina West. Then get to know a little about Nina as she shares her own story. A craft or movement activity will be included.
There will be a Q&A session following the storytime. Questions expressed with respect and civility are welcome.
About Nina West
Drag queen, comedian, puppet enthusiast, spoofstress, self-proclaimed foodie, activist, friend, mutha and fan of a comfy bed, Nina West was named National Entertainer of the Year in 2008, Columbus Gay Men's Chorus' FORTE AWARD winner in 2012 and Columbus Alive's People to Watch in 2013.
About the Series
Meet people from all walks of life and hear their unique personal stories. Throughout the year, community members with diverse backgrounds are invited by the library to encourage acceptance and promote respect while providing an enjoyable literacy experience.
Future and past presenters include: A ballerina from BalletMet, an English Learners Community Outreach Liaison for the Westerville City Schools (Lula Abdull Mohamed), a drag queen and comedian (Nina West) and the 7-year-old founder of Tiger Mushroom Farms (Te'Lario Watkins II)
