Borrow a Guitar

For beginners and virtuosos alike, learn to play the guitar or master your skills without having to buy or rent expensive instruments and equipment.

Try out one of 4 different guitars to find the right fit, including acoustic, electric and acoustic-electric. Teach yourself or take advantage of the library’s collection of how-to guides.

All equipment was generously donated to the library by the Guitar Center.

What make/models are available to borrow?

  • Guitar Mitchell MD100 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar
  • Yamaha JR1 Mini Folk Guitar
  • Mitchell TD400 Double Cutaway Electric Guitar
  • Mitchell MX400 Acoustic Electric Guitar

What is in each kit?

  • Guitar and case
  • Strap
  • Tuner
  • Cables and amplifier (for electric and acoustic-electric only)
  • Instruction guides and chord chart

What else do I need to know?

Available to anyone 18 years or older with a Westerville Library card in good standing and a photo ID (such as a driver’s license).

  • Age Restriction: Ages 18+
  • Limit: 2 per customer account
  • Loan Period: 28 Days
  • Photo ID: Required
  • Pickup Location: Reserve Room (walk-up only)
  • Renewals: Eligible for up to 3 renewals
  • Replacement Cost: Guitars and associated items not returned will be assessed, up to $625.
  • Return to: Media Desk*

*Returning guitars through the book drop is prohibited.
