How does it work?

Individuals 18 years or older with a Westerville Library card and a government-issued ID (such as a driver’s license) can check out a NOOK.

To check out a NOOK, stop at the Youth Services Desk.

What can I do with it?

Read books, of course!

There are approximately 15 different books pre-loaded onto each NOOK. To find out which titles are included on which device, look in the Alt Author section for each device.

What else do I need to know?

  1. Age Restriction: Patron must be an adult 18+ years old
  2. Limit: One per customer account
  3. Loan Period: 28 Days
  4. Lost Items: Replacement Cost for NOOK and/or its accessories will be assessed.
  5. Overdue Fines: $5 per day (Overdue fines on a single NOOK will be charged up to $50.)
  6. Photo ID: Required
  7. Pickup Location: Youth Services (Pickup at the Drive-Thru window and Self-Serve shelves is prohibited.)
  8. Renewals: Ineligible
  9. Reserve: If all of the NOOKs are currently checked out, contact Youth Services to place a hold on one.
  10. Return to: Youth Services (Returning NOOKs through the book drops or Library Link is prohibited.)

Note: If your library card account has exceeded the maximum fine amount, you will not be permitted to check out a NOOK until your fine is paid.

What if I can't use the NOOK because of a disability?

If you or someone you know is unable to use the NOOK because of a visual disability, we can provide you with an ereader alternative. For more information, contact us.
